Unpopular opinion: True AI slop is born from the many, many individuals (great people, too) who unbeknownst to them have low taste level but zealot level excitement that they can finally create things that felt impossible to make before, along with the mistaken idea that AI alone now levels the playing field. The reality is they are making often low quality output that is highly impressive to them, but since it’s such a revelation they believe that they are only being told what they made looks bad due to ignorant AI bias. Which in turn, ironically gives AI overall a bad rep because of their aggressive defensiveness of their actual slop.
The result? even amazing things made by AI are judged as “AI slop”.
