I am typically NOT the kind of person to come and air grievances about Claude. But this absolutely made me blow a f*cking gasket. A student trying to get a single textbook to LEARN affordably is a "no" FROM THE AI LITERALLY TRAINED ON THE ENTIRE LIBRARY OF PIRATED MATERIAL. The company who provably pulled the entire damn library and is going to go into the largest IPO in history trains a model that refuses to point others to the same free knowledge.
And yeah—I went and asked ChatGPT immediately after, and it handed it over in a heartbeat. Say what you will about OpenAI, but at least they don't publicly act like puritans on their high horse who then act with hypocrisy in practice.
